There are Many Different La Ceiba Bars to Visit:
Garaje Café Bar
One of the newer bars in town, Garage has quickly grown to be a favourite. Its sports atmosphere with many high definition screens sets it apart in La Ceiba. A full international bar, ice cold beers, and best of all prompt and friendly service are all part of this setting. Open Tuesday to Sunday from 11:00 a.m.till 10:00 p.m., sometimes later on weekends, they also have a nice snack and light foods menu for those who develop an appetite while having a couple of drinks. Located on the D’antoni Hospital Boulevard. The bar is air-conditioned but also has some sidewalk tables for those that wish to enjoy the balmy tropical evenings.
A unique, beach front bar, located in the zona viva, very close to the old Municipal Dock. El Jaguar offers a very relaxed atmosphere, including hammocks. They serve no bottled softdrinks, and have a variety of homemade concoctions, normally based on tequila or rum. They sometimes have live music on the evenings. Food is limited and their beer is some of the coldest in the city.
La Vela Beach Club
On the beach, adjacent to the Quinta Real Convention Center. Open daily from 11:00 a.m. till midnight except on Mondays when closed. Functions as a beach bar, restaurant and beach club. Has one of the nicest pools in town to enjoy. Full international bar with ice cold beers and a complete international menu where you can choose anything from an appetizer or snack to a full course meal. Very reasonable prices, great security and pleasant atmosphere.
The famous old Expatriates Bar and Grill has come back to life as 0101 Bar and Grill. This new establishment retains the charm of the Expatriates Bar. As a matter of fact, if you are an old client of the Expats bar, you will feel much at home! Open daily for lunch and dinner, they offer ice cold beer and a compete menu. They have some awesome wings with a variety of sauces. Atmosphere is ideal to chill and relax. Seating includes an area in a terrace. For those new to the Bar, it is on 12 Calle, east of Avenida 14 de Julio, in the Barrio El Iman, a quiet residential area.
The bar is on a corner building on the second floor. All the taxis in town know it well. Great for family outing as well as a place to meet the local crowd. The name, 0101 stands for the first four digits in the ID number of La Ceiba born citizens. It is very much a local bar.
Bar la Jungla
Hidden in the forests of Nombre de Dios National Park, Bar La Jungla is at the Omega Tours Jungle Lodge. If you are staying in the Cangrejal River Valley, you will be happy to learn there is a great bar near your lodge! La Jungla has a pleasant character and tends to be quite international. It is owned and run by Udo and Silvia, a German couple that own Omega Tours. The bar is open daily and offers a full service restaurant, as well as a fully stocked international bar. Great place to chill and enjoy the jungle sounds. Because of its location, if closes early, usually at 9:00 p.m., but will stay open later on busy days, especially over the weekend.
